How does VersaSpa work?

Sunless tanning products work by creating a response with the top layers of the skin. Dihydroxyacetone or DHA sugars react naturally with the protein in the skin to create that golden color tanners are seeking. VersaSpa uses a DHA self tanner and bronzer blend to give you the streak free golden tan you want-no matter what your skin type. They have added aloe and moisturizers to keep your skin healthy and golden brown, so you can look and feel great. Not only does the solution have a superior proprietary solution which results in the most amazing tan, but this rare combination of precisely timed and measured misting (HVLP) of the solution is truly one of VersaSpa’s advantages. There is no longer any reason for any person to go through life looking pale and unhealthy….or accept orange, blotchy, or streaky results!

What do I need to do prior to my VersaSpa session?

We recommend that you have showered, shaved and exfoliated well for the day, be free from all lotions and apply Ph balancing prep gel before your session for maximum results.

What do I wear for my session?

You do not have to wear anything. The room is completely private, so tanning nude is perfectly acceptable. However, if a bathing suit, underwear or anything else is worn it may be stained. The bronzer we use is water soluble and will wash out of clothing with cold water, but the DHA applications may cause stains on some fabrics.

What if I have fair skin that has never been able to tan?

Will I feel sticky like other spray applications I have used?

No. Once you leave the VersaSpa booth and dress, your skin will feel soft and pliable because of the moisturizing components. You will not feel sticky.

Do I need to cover my hair?

No. Many customers wear disposable shower caps, which are provided by our Salon, to keep the solution from getting on their hair. Other customers tan without covering their hair. The solution will not penetrate the hair follicles.

Does it turn my skin orange?

No! In the past, self tanners gave many individuals an unnatural glow and caused streaking. Most of these undesirable results were caused by improper or ineffective application techniques or improper solution mixtures. Applying creams and spraying in other applications available on the market today usually result in excessive amounts being applied to the skin, also requiring rubbing in or buffing off in an even manner to try and even the results but can cause streaking. Unnatural dark spots may also appear in dry or thick skinned areas such as elbows, knees and knuckles because these areas have a tendency, to absorb more of the solution. VersaSpa assures that all areas of the body get a uniform coating of solution utilizing their High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) patent pending technology required to produce a streak free golden brown tan. Will I have an unpleasant odor like other applications I have used?

Am I wet when getting out of the booth?

No! With the Comfort-Dry feature VersaSpa leaves you dry after every application by gently blow drying soft and refreshing air over the treated body area. So you will simply step out of the booth and put your clothes back on! Simple as that...

How long after my session can I shower?

We recommend that you wait at least 6-8 hours before you shower after your VersaSpa session to fully set for best results. If you shower earlier you may diminish the intensity of the tan. If you have chosen to use the bronzing solution the initial tan created by the water soluble bronzers will wash off, but the DHA will remain and create a long term tan.

Can I still use the tanning beds or tan outside?

Yes. There is nothing that would prevent you from tanning in the beds or outdoors. In fact, a number of customers have found that tanning with UV rays and in the VersaSpa actually gives them a better overall tan. Remember that tanning with just the VersaSpa alone does not give you protection from UV rays.

How long does the tan last?

The tan should last 5-7 days. Everyone’s skin exfoliates at different rates.

Is there anything I can do to improve my results and extend the life of my tan?

Yes. We have a full line of sunless tanning products that prep the skin, amplify the results, moisturize and extend the life of your tan. These products will insure you have the deepest, longest, most flawless lasting tan available in sunless today. We have these products available for purchase when you come for your VersaSpa session.
